75 Day 1. Arrive Santiago (Chile). Be met in Santiago and transferred to your hotel. This evening, enjoy time at leisure. Stay: Santiago, Atton Vitacura. Day 2. Santiago, Easter Island. Be transferred to the airport for your flight to the mysterious and relatively untouched Easter Island. On arrival, this afternoon is at your leisure to explore. Stay (Three Nights): Easter Island, Hare Noi. B Day 3. Ahu Akivi, Orongo. Today, head to the sacred location of Ahu Akivi and visit the inspiring seven Moai statues, all facing towards the ocean. It is rumoured these statues represent the explorers sent by Polynesian King Hutu Matu'a, as all Moais face the village of the tribe that owns the ahu (stone platform). Your sightseeing continues at the Rano Kao volcano, whose deep crater of lush vegetation contains a large fresh water lake. The rest of the afternoon is spent exploring the ceremonial villages of Orongo and Ahu Vinapu, where historic Inca masonry is shown through interesting architecture. B Day 4. Ranu Raraku, Anakena. This morning, travel southeast to appreciate the sheer size and beauty of the extinct volcano of Poike, whilst marvelling at the coastline of black volcanic rock. Ttake a drive to Vaihu where you'll enjoy an insight into how locals honour death through celebration. Here, absorb the beauty of a Paina (a ceremonial stone circle) and eight fallen Moais. Afterwards, you'll set out to the volcanic crater of Ranu Raraku. Located on the lower slopes of Terevaka, this quarry supplied the stone from which about 95% of the islands known sculptures were carved. Incomplete statues surround the area and are remarkable for their numbers, inaccessibility and size. Touring continues as you travel to Ahu Tongarik, home to the largest ahu on the island and the white coral sand beach of Anakena. BL Day 5. Depart Easter Island. After a morning at leisure, your journey ends this afternoon as you are transferred to the airport for your onward flight to Santiago.
