70 Picturesque Patagonia Explore the pristine Patagonia region, a place where clear blue lakes contrast against towering A PLACE OF NATURAL BEAUTY One of South America's most stunning regions, Patagonia is a nature and wildlife lover's paradise. This wild and rugged land is filled with ice cathedrals and peninsulas abounding with birds and marine life. On a clear day, panoramic views and exotic animals are everywhere and the towering, snow-capped mountains, turquoise lakes and huge glaciers look almost too good to be true. Spanning over a million square kilometres, Patagonia has many worlds to discover. TORRES DEL PAINE PARK Soaring more than 2,000 metres above the Patagonian lowland, the Torres del Paine (Towers of Paine) pillars dominate the landscape of South America's most impressive national park. Amazing flora and fauna will be encountered throughout. It is within this park, for instance, that a great number of flamingos gather and massive herds of Ostrich-like creatures called ñandú roam. Azure lakes, emerald forests, roaring rivers, and looming peaks further add to the beauty of this visually stunning part of South America. RELAX AT HOTEL LAS TORRES Located inside the spectacular Torres del Paine National Park, Hotel Las Torres is an outstanding property that features a day spa, an organic garden and a huge range of activities. Each of the hotel's many windows look out over the expansive steppe or snow-capped mountains surrounding it, including the trio of granite towers that gave the park its name. Accommodation offers superb vistas with a cosy atmosphere, a perfect setting to relax and enjoy after a long day's excursion. 70 Main image: get an up-close look at the phenomenal Patagonian region – www.travelmarvel.com.au –
