Galápagos Islands Cruising
Embark on an amazing four-night cruise with daily excursions to encounter wildlife that can only be
EVER-CHANGING LANDSCAPES
Living in isolation from the rest of the world,
some 1,000 kilometres from South America,
the Galápagos Islands are often referred to
as a living museum that acts as a showcase
of evolution. Formed by ongoing seismic and
volcanic activity, all 19 islands lie within three
ocean currents. Here, plant life exudes from
basalt rock, giant tortoises roam freely and sea
lions playfully swim in the equatorial waters.
WILDLIFE OF THE GALÁPAGOS
Home to an astonishing array of native animals,
the Galápagos Islands are unlike any other place
in the world. Naturalist and geologist Charles
Darwin noted that although all islands shared
similar compositions, climate and environment,
each housed its own unique set of species.
You'll get the chance to spot giant tortoises,
blue-footed boobies, iguanas, whales, dolphins,
penguins and crabs, to name just a few.
CHARLES DARWIN
RESEARCH STATION
It is little wonder this mysterious land and its
exotic inhabitants inspired Charles Darwin's
theory of evolution, following his visit to these
stunning islands in 1835. Founded in 1959 with
the help of the IUCN, UNESCO and a team of
worldwide conservationists, the Charles Darwin
Foundation for the Galápagos Islands has
provided unique scientific solutions at local,
national and international levels.
