Lake Titicaca. Set right on the border of Peru and Bolivia, Lake Titicaca is the highest altitude lake in the world. Like a Local – cruise over the lake to the home of the Uros people – a group of more than 40 man-made islands created from floating reeds. This afternoon return to your hotel for free time and dinner. BD Day 11. Lake Titicaca, Lima. Fly back to Lima today. A Taste of Lima – dine at Café del Museo, set within the Larco Museum – a privately owned museum of pre-Columbian art. Stay: Lima, Hotel Jose Antonio Bellavista. BD Day 12. Lima, Quito (Ecuador). Today, fly to Ecuador's capital. Constructed on the foundations of an ancient Inca city, upon arrival to Quito, be transferred to your hotel. Stay (Two Nights): Dann Carlton Quito. B Day 13. Quito. Today takes you on a guided tour of Quito. Tonight, enjoy the evening at leisure and perhaps experience the flavours of South America at one of Quito's many restaurants. B Day 14. Quito, Galápagos Islands Cruise. Fly to San Cristóbal Island. On arrival, transfer to your ship and enjoy a talk on the landscapes you are about to discover. After lunch, set out cruising to Punta Pitt, Here, perhaps stroll along a walking trail, wander the coast or set off on a panga (Zodiac) ride. This evening, enjoy the first of many delicious dinners on board. Stay (Four Nights): Galápagos Islands Cruise, M/V Santa Cruz II. BLD Day 15. Galápagos Islands Cruise. This morning enjoy a panga ride to Santa Fe Island – an idyllic sandy-white beach populated by many sea lions and iguanas. After lunch, continue to South Plaza Island, where white sand and black lava contrast brilliantly against the turquoise waters. Along the coast, watch for sea lion colonies, frigatebirds, swallow- tailed gulls and shearwaters that glide by. BLD Day 16. Galápagos Islands Cruise. Disembark your ship on Santa Cruz Island at Puerto Ayora and visit the Charles Darwin Research Station. Meet with a team of worldwide conservationists as you tour the facility and see giant Galápagos tortoises, as well as a range of other native creatures. The afternoon is at leisure. Perhaps go hiking, biking or kayaking, before returning to your ship this evening for a delicious dinner. BLD Day 17. Galápagos Islands Cruise. Spend today exploring Punta Suarez. Here, a wildlife walk provides one of the highlights of your journey. Continue to Española Island, a remarkable island that plays host to an extraordinary range of creatures. In Gardener's Bay, arrive on a white sandy beach, where colonies of sea lions and marine iguanas laze in the sun. Keep an eye out for warbler-finches, and hood mockingbirds. BLD Day 18. Galápagos Islands Cruise, Guayaquil. Disembark your ship at Baltra Island and transfer to the airport for your flight to Guayaquil. Enjoy a Farewell Dinner later this evening. Stay: Guayaquil, Hampton Inn by Hilton. BD Day 19. Depart Guayaquil. Your South American journey ends this morning after breakfast when you'll be transferred to the airport for your onward flight.
