38 Day 1. Arrive Lima (Peru). On arrival, be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel for a Welcome Reception. Stay (Two Nights): Lima, Hotel Jose Antonio Bellavista. Day 2. Lima. Today take a tour of the World-Heritage-listed historic centre of Lima. Like a Local – delight in a Pisco Sour and learn how it is made. B Day 3. Lima, Cusco, Sacred Valley. Fly to Cusco and travel to the Sacred Valley. From here, visit the incredible ancient ruins and markets of Pisac. Special Stay – Inkaterra Hacienda Urubamba. Stay (Two Nights): Sacred Valley, Inkaterra Hacienda Urubamba. B Day 4. Sacred Valley. Today, visit the fascinating Terraces of Moray. A Taste of the Sacred Valley – visit the home of a local family for a home-cooked meal. Later, take in the salt mines of Maras and marvel at the view from above the mines. BL Day 5. Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu. Like a Local – today board the Vistadome train and head to Machu Picchu. On arrival, enjoy a locally guided tour of this wondrous site. Stay: Aguas Calientes, El MaPi Hotel. BD Day 6. Machu Picchu, Cusco. With the morning free, perhaps revisit Machu Picchu at leisure. Then re-board the Vistadome train for your journey back to Ollantaytambo station, before a coach returns you to Cusco. Like a Local – during a weaving demonstration, see how the colourful materials of South America are created by local people. Tonight enjoy dinner and a traditional Peruvian folklore show. Stay (Three Nights): Cusco, Hilton Garden Inn. BD Day 7. Cusco. This morning, head to Sacsayhuaman Fortress, a huge fort that was constructed using six- metre-high boulders cut to fit together tightly without mortar. After admiring the fortress, take a tour of Cusco, visiting the ruins of Tambomachay, Quenqo and Puka Pukara. B Day 8. Cusco. Today, enjoy time at leisure to relax or explore the vibrant city of Cusco and its surroundings. B Day 9. Cusco, Lake Titicaca. Today set out for the city of Puno, a picturesque hillside city situated on the south-eastern shores of Lake Titicaca. Along the way, stop for a visit to the town of Andahuaylillas, known for its lavishly decorated Baroque church dedicated to Saint Peter the Apostle, widely recognised as the 'Sistine Chapel of America'. You'll also stop for a hearty buffet lunch. On arrival in Puno, this evening is at your leisure.
