Cleaned up and the hard work begins MARINE CRANES & Truck Loader Cranes, for all applications ALLCRANE Sales & Services Ltd Custom marinised to suit New Zealand conditions. Spare parts for all cranes. Auckland,NZ ph:0800 ALLCRANE (0800 255 27263) sales@allcrane.co.nz - www.allcrane.co.nz The results speak for themselves layer of paint on the decks, changing the rigging, replacement of most deck hardware, and any finishing touches that need to be done to make his prized boat look really great. It was interesting to watch the progress and transformation, not only of the vessel, but also in the lad himself as he honed new skills and soaked up learning from the old salts' advice and support. So much so, that once this project is completed Tim is already talking about another yacht of a much larger size in need of some desperate TLC, one that can venture offshore and maybe abroad. In talking with Tim he said it was hard to find other teenagers out there with their own boats due to everything being so expensive. From repair costs and maintenance, to haulout and moorings, everything requires large amounts of money. But this exercise has taught him that by being prepared to knuckle down and do the hard yards, seek advice and join a club, the opportunities do open up. "I think that if someone really were keen enough, and thinking of getting themselves a boat as a project and subsequently cruising with mates, I would highly recommend joining a yacht club like Bucklands Beach as they will receive more assistance than they would have bargained for," says Tim. On this note Tim says that if you see Aorere out on the water please row over and say hello. His final comment was. "Many thanks once again to all the people who helped me to restore my yacht so that I could get back out on the water, it is all much appreciated." What more can one say except that it is nice to be able to assist a young fellow with a passion to get into boating and out on the water.
