OBESITY
Isabel Hunsinger has
designed a programme
to help improve New
Zealand's obesity
statistics. "Your
PureLifestyle 14 Day
Cleanse" is designed to
help you lose 4.5kg in
14 days. It does this by
eliminating eight types of
food that sabotage people's
weight loss before introducing
them again so that you learn to control your temptations.
Obesity is one of the most preventable health conditions and
we struggle with it in New Zealand.

Emotional Hoarding
"Ruminating" is a term used to describe the natural tendency
of re-playing negative events over and over in our heads.
According to psychologist, Paula Robinson, our thoughts
become narrowed when we are constantly rehashing and
recapping the past. By doing this, we are decreasing our
problem-solving skill which makes it hard for us to rationalise
the situation and move on. Advice on how to move on from
an event that you're ruminating over includes:
Looking at the situation differently.
Understanding we can't change the past – we should write
down our feelings and see if our current thoughts around this
are rationale.
Ask ourselves how we would feel if we were willing to move
on. This creates space for emotions and de-clutters our
minds.
Write down a list of what is good in our lives so if we catch
ourselves ruminating we can reflect back on this list to keep
ourselves encouraged and motivated.

GAMING BENEFICIAL
Gaming might have a positive impact on the elderly. A study
done with 140 individuals over 63-years-old tested the effects of
gaming on them. Those who played games had a greater sense
of emotional well-being compared to those who didn't who had a
higher rate of negative emotions instead. The benefits of this finding
could revolutionise the medical world, especially because depression
is a major issue amongst the older generation. Psychiatrists have
been using video games to treat mental trauma amongst children
but not amongst full-grown adults before.

McDonald's has four distinct
shapes that their nuggets
must be in order to meet the
McDonald's "Gold Standard".
Each shape has its own name
which are; ball, bone, bell and
boot which must be matched
as perfectly as possible. There
are more strict tests then just
the shape that McDonald's
authority undergoes in order
to get the perfect nugget. The
flavour, texture, firmness, coating and colour must all comply
with their standards too.
