:indulge Extreme " Too much of a good thing can be wonderful! Mae West " Body Treatments Ever wondered how celebrities like to indulge? Here's a list of extreme and slightly bizarre beauty treatments some of them use... Placenta mix – Victoria Beckham and Jennifer Lopez swear by sheep placenta mixed with gold flakes (sounds expensive!) to use as a face lift as it is readily absorbed by the skin to stimulate the production of collagen. Leeches – Demi Moore lives on the wild side and uses leeches on her face to detoxify the skin and make it glow. Snake venom – Almost like botox but instead of injecting snake venom into the skin, it is massaged into it. Used by Gwyneth Paltrow, it is said to relax the muscles and reduce the formation of wrinkles. 8 | www.h e rmagaz i n e . c o. n z Fish pedicures – this one is becoming quite common but Jessica Simpson enjoys soaking her feet in a pool of toothless fish which eat the dead skin cells and resulting in a polished pedicure. Bubble bath – Teri Hatcher enjoys adding a glass of wine to her bath to make the skin soft, this one we could actually do! Geisha Facial – Also known as: Nightingale Poo Facial, Tom Cruise takes part in this interesting treatment in an attempt to reduce wrinkles. Caviar facial – This delicacy can now be rubbed on your face, Angelina Jolie rubs fish eggs on her face which have a high oil content to create a super moisturiser and they also get rid of stretch marks. Haemorrhoid cream (which is for painful veins in the bum) – is used by Sandra Bullock to remove those dark circles from under your eyes; a better option is to get a good sleep. Diamonds and ruby peel – these gorgeous stones also work as antioxidants, Mila Kunis uses these to get that beautiful youthful glow of hers, if only we were all able to roll around them!
