RIVIERA IS BACK! RIVIERA HAS BEEN brought out of receivership by Longhurst Marine Holdings, headed by The Boat Works boss and Gold Coast business identity, Rodney Longhurst. Longhurst Marine Holdings has offered employment to the majority of Riviera staff and contractors and has also entered into a long-term lease for Riviera's 14ha state-of the-art Coomera site. Free of receivership constraints, Riviera will now move through a restructure and recapitalisation process to prepare the company for future growth opportunities. Part of this process will be the creation of a new senior management team to drive the business forward. proud stockists of the world's finest. Cup course revealed THE RACECOURSE AREA for the 34th America's Cup in San Francisco will stretch across the city shoreline from piers 27 to 29 out to near the Golden Gate Bridge, between Alcatraz Island and the city shoreline, bringing the racing closer to shore than any other regatta in the 160-year history of the America's Cup. Close viewing is available along the city waterfront with Marina Green and Crissy Field among the prime locations. A transit channel has been set up along the shore to allow access for non-racing vessels. The restricted area box is expected to be in place for three to four hours a day on scheduled race days. The 2013 racing season starts on July 4, with the Louis Vuitton Cup, the challenger selection series, leading up to the America's Cup Finals from September 7-22. ILLEGAL FISHING COSTLY TWO NORTH SHORE men caught fishing illegally in an Auckland marine reserve have each had to complete 12 hours community work and pay the Department of Conservation $500. Two DoC rangers saw the men fishing from a boat inside the Long Bay-Okura Marine Reserve in May last year and spoke to the pair when they pulled their boat out of the water at a nearby boat ramp. DoC was able to prove the pair had been fishing inside the reserve using photographs and GPS technology. The men have spent 12 hours each cleaning up the beach at the Long Bay-Okura Marine Reserve where the offences occurred and submitted a written apology for their offending. • Japan's No.1 loader and mini crawler crane • Largest range of straight boom loader cranes 10301 196 Pakenham Street West Westhaven Auckland New Zealand Phone: + 64 9 309 6317 Facsimile: + 64 9 309 6897 Email: sales@generalmarine.co.nz www.generalmarine.co.nz GMS_NZPS_QPV_FCI.indd 1 One-stop-shop for crane sales, service and parts CRANE SALES & SERVICE • Leading European manufacturer of marine • Fixed, telescopic & articulated booms available cranes • Manufactured to Lloyds standard on request 21/09/2009 7:28:03 p.m. May/June 2012 Professional Skipper 43 VIP.S79 VIIIP.S72 S
