Generally, while the layout appears simple, it is interesting to note the amount of thought that has gone into the many features on board. Clearly Alistair Reynolds, who has a number of the slightly smaller Facilitator class barges, has had some considerable input into many of the practical design features. The large freeing ports at the stern are a case in point.
