New Interislander training
FOR MANY INTERISLANDER crew members school was a tough time, and the opportunity to complete the National Certificate in Educational Achievement without having to return to the classroom was a welcome surprise.
Last month, following an initiative between Competenz and Interislander, 86 crew members graduated with NCEA completing either level one, two or three,
with some achieving all three levels of the senior secondary school qualification. Employees complete their NCEA by building on previous Competenz qualifications already achieved, such as Occupational Health and Safety and Maritime Hospitality. Interislander plans to roll the programme throughout the business later this year – already 40 more employees have signed up.
