WINTER WONDERLAND TOUR EIGHT DAYS, SEVEN NIGHTS Featuring Alaska's World Famous Iditarod Sled Dog Race & Mushers' Banquet Meals included: (B) Breakfast, (L) Lunch, (S) Snack, (D) Dinner FEBRUARY 24: Arrive in Anchorage, Alaska and transfer to your overnight accommodations. FEBRUARY 25: Board your motor coach and head south along the scenic Turnagain Arm to Seward. Visits to the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center and Alaska Sealife Center are included. Overnight in Girdwood at The Hotel Alyeska (two nights). (B, L) FEBRUARY 26: Today, enjoy a day at leisure and take advantage of optional tours and amenities at the resort. Enjoy an included tram ride offering spectacular views of the valley. (B) FEBRUARY 27: Depart Alyeska and head north to Anchorage. Enjoy a tour of Anchorage and visit the Alaska Zoo for a behind-the-scenes tour. During your leisure time, you may want to visit the Anchorage Museum. Tonight, enjoy Iditarod festivities and dinner at the Mushers' Banquet! Overnight in Anchorage (four nights). (B, D) FEBRUARY 28: Today, travel north to meet four-time Iditarod champion, Martin Buser, at his Happy Trails Kennel. Hear personal stories while viewing a glimpse of the grandeur Alaska has to offer along the Iditarod Trail. Returning to Anchorage, visit the Iditarod Headquarters and see firsthand a replica Iditarod Trail station. (B) MARCH 1: This morning, head to the start of the Iditarod. Cheer on mushers from all over the world and enjoy other Iditarod festivities in Anchorage. This afternoon, enjoy a cultural visit to the Alaska Native Heritage Center. Tonight, reminisce over your Alaska winter adventure at a farewell dinner. (B, D) MARCH 2: This morning, depart from your hotel for the adventure north to Willow for the official start of the Iditarod Sled Dog Race. Mushers take off across Willow Lake on their 1,131 mile journey by dogsled to Nome. See and hear these amazing sled dogs race by. The Willow Community Center is open and offers a break from the cold, with vendors selling food and drink, as well as local crafts. Mushers will depart the starting gate every two minutes. After watching many of the mushers depart, return by coach to Anchorage for your final night stay. (B, S) MARCH 3: Transfer to the airport for your departure flight home. Pre- and post-night stays available for this tour.
