LEND A HAND WITH THE LOCAL
QUINTA HARVEST
High above the golden river bends of the Douro
Valley sits Quinta de Avessada, a beautiful,
century-old wine estate. Here, you are invited
to roll up your sleeves—and your trousers. With
scissors in hand and the sound of traditional
music drifting through the vines, snip ripe
grapes from the trellises, then take part in the
time-honoured ritual of foot stomping in a
granite lagar. As the sun sets, celebrate the day
with a glass of the estate's award-winning wine
in hand.
