Expensive costs There are three main types of pet insurance in New Zealand, Pet-n-Sur, PetPlan and Ellenco. Less than 10% of New Zealanders actually use pet insurance services, looking at the following pay-outs, it might be worth it… Gus, a 15 month old Labrador ate a stick that perforated his insides. This cost $17,885.33 to treat. He spent 10 days in a pet hospital, underwent two laparotomies and required frozen plasma and IV fluids to regain all his strength. Another dog cost $18,000 worth of treatment after being diagnosed with cancer. The owners did all they could to care for it but in the end the dog died. One lady paid $450 in treatment for her cat after it got into a common brawl with another feline. The money paid for consultation, injections and stitches. You can mix this dry, no need to cook it first • ¹/₂₂ cup dry powdered milk Directions: Preheat oven to 300 F. Mix all ingredients together. Depending on the size, this recipe will make around 20 treats. This healthy treat is perfect for training or just plain treating your special friend. Fun Fact In 2005, startling statistics revealed that British people took more time off to care for their pets then they did for their sick partners. All in all, 2.7 million working days were taken off to care for their pets. 53% also said they bought their dogs a present if they were feeling ill!
