Entry requirements: Either prior experience in running events and/or a relevant
qualification such as a tertiary diploma or
certificate in event and/or conference management, otherwise a degree in management, marketing, tourism and hospitality,
communications or media studies.
Pay: Varies depending on experience. New
event managers earn $30,000-$45,000 a
year. Those with three or more years experience earn $46,000-$55,000 or more a
year.

jewellers need to complete an apprenticeship and gain a New Zealand Trade Certificate. All apprentices must complete stages
1, 2 and 3 of the Open Polytechnic of New
Zealand Certificate in Manufacturing Jewellery. Stage 1 can be completed prior to
starting an apprenticeship.
Contemporary jewellers are those who have
not completed a formal apprenticeship and
that exhibit and sell their own work.
