After both experiencing life-changing breast cancer diagnoses the pair are shameless in their efforts to raise funds for the Waikato Breast Cancer Trust. Their first fundraising effort comes in the Worthy Date form of a special "Supreme Pillow" which is being sold at Forlongs, with $5 from every purchase going straight to the trust. Supreme Pillow is a high quality, full sized luxury 700 gram pillow encased in a super soft microfibre quilted cover for extra comfort and support. Down-like fibre curls cluster and cradle your head and it reshapes easily with a daily fluffing. Enjoy all the benefits of polyester with all the comfort of down. The Bra Group - which consists of Mrs Comer, Sharyn Cawood, Lynn Flowers, Maxine Hodgson, Kathryn Williams and Bernadette Kirkham - have a few other fundraisers in the pipeline, including an extravagant fashion show to be held at the new Gallagher house on Hamilton's Lake Rotoroa. Models include well known kiwis such as Jools Topp, Liz Mitchell, Hinewehi Mohi, Anne Thorp and more. Each model worked with their body painter(s) to capture their personal passion and purpose. So each image, which is accompanied by a quote chosen by the model, sends a message of hope, vigilance, family and determination to the women of New Zealand. The calendar project was started by Auckland business woman and breast cancer survivor, Liz Oliver and professional body painter, Anna Molineux. Both passionate about body art, they were discussing Liz's dream of painting imagery from her own breast cancer journey on a body when Anna suggested turning it into a much larger project. Anna had recently body painted a friend just days before a double mastectomy and had been thinking about how to raise funds for breast cancer awareness. They put their heads together and came up with the idea of the calendar. Since then, a team of New Zealand's top body painters, photographers, designers, models, assistants and more have given their time and expertise for free to bring this project to fruition. The Pink Ribbon Calendars go on sale on the 1st October 2012 and will be available from Whitcoulls stores for $34.99 $10 from every calendar sold will go directly to the NZ Breast Cancer Foundation. www.pledgeme.co.nz/323
