Winter can have harsh effects on skin, lips, and eyes. Appearance changes the way we feel immensely, and in the cold season it's easy to let yourself go and get down in the dumps. The great thing is that with a bit of effort this can easily be avoided. With a little care here and there it's not hard to keep feeling and looking great.
Golden Tan Turn yourself golden-brown from head to toe with effective self-tanning that
can be done at home! Start by exfoliating your body all over first, and shave where desired. Sugar-based exfoliators have smooth spheres and are gentler to the skin. Concentrate on drier areas such as elbows, knees and ankles. Next do some prep work: Pull your hair away from your face and shoulders. Make sure skin is dry, and hydrate with a cream moisturiser. This will allow the tan to be applied more evenly and avoid blotches. To avoid stained palms, pop on a pair of latex gloves. Dab Vaseline in your belly button to prevent the self- tanner accumulating there. Lastly choose a self-tanner that you feel most comfortable with. Self-tanners with a colour guide make it easy to spot streaks before it's too late. Start with a dollar-coin size amount of cream or an egg-size amount for foam. Massage into the skin in swoops, from the tops of your toes to your neck. Rub sparingly into elbows and knees. When tanning your neck, hold your head high for five minutes to avoid creases.
