happening … and of course it wasn't. OK, so you do have to walk along the catwalk to your seat - with the usher. And yes, people are seated either side and some do look. However, the reality check is no one would ever recognise you again - even in a line up. The camera flashing is someone's iPhone sending the obligatory 'wish you were here' message and your moment of fame on the world's longest catwalk of all 25 metres was 45 seconds – ticket check included. The show was fabulous. John Campbell was clearly excited to be compering (this needs an inflection above the e) the event and offered a little light humour during the evening. The clothing was varied and interesting, the models seemed to have adopted the appropriate air of feigned disinterest in everything, and all made it up and down the entire catwalk without disaster. The crowd was enthusiastic, supportive and appreciative of the commitment by a large number of people to produce such a top quality and successful event yet again in Dunedin. I too felt as though I had been part of something special, and clutching my wee bag of attendee goodies I trotted off home to enter next year's dates in the diary.
