59 NORTHERN EUROPE Afterwards, you'll be treated to a wonderful dinner in the museum's elegant Ship Hall, overlooking the exquisitely restored vessel, Vasa. Vasa sank on a voyage to Stockholm back in 1628, but was recovered and beautifully restored in 1961. BD Day 6. Stockholm, Oslo. You'll transfer to the airport today to board your included flight to Oslo. Enjoy dinner at your hotel, followed by the rest of the evening at leisure to relax or perhaps step out and familiarise yourself with Norway's capital. Two Night Stay: Oslo, Grand Hotel or similar. BD Day 7. Oslo. Enjoy a guided sightseeing tour of Oslo, passing through the city centre including the Akershus Fortress, the bustling main street Karl Johan, the Parliament Building, the Royal Palace and the Norwegian Nobel Institute. Continue to Vigeland Sculpture Park, and take a walk with your guide to view the unique collection of over 150 outdoor sculptures collected by Gustav Vigeland. The sculptures, made from various rocks and bronze between 1907 and 1942, symbolise the different stages of life. Later, arrive at the Holmenkollen Ski Jump, which presents fantastic views of the city and the fjord far below. B Day 8. Oslo, Tromso, Embark Ship. Today transfer to the airport and board your included flight from Oslo to Tromso, considered by many to be the northernmost city in the world. On touching down, be met at the airport and transferred to your small ship. This evening, enjoy the first of many wonderful meals on board. 12 Night Stay: aboard the MS Hebridean Sky. BD Day 9. Trollfjorden, Lofoten Islands. Enjoy a full day to explore the pretty archipelago of Lofoten. Head to the tiny hamlet of Borg for a visit to Lofotr, a Viking museum that contains the world's largest Viking longhouse. Enjoy lunch in a local restaurant then travel to the fishing community of Sund, situated on the most southerly point of Flakstad island. At the Fishery Museum, visit a blacksmith famous for his decorative steel cormorants, which can be found in the Pentagon, the Kremlin and the King of Norway's palace. Later arrive in Reine, a picturesque fishing village on the island of Moskenesøya. With your ship anchored overnight, you might like to head ashore on a short Zodiac ride to enjoy a stroll with your Expedition Team under the famous midnight sun.
