Appreciate the sheer escarpments of Kings Canyon Day 1. Arrive Darwin. Arrive into Darwin airport, where you will be met on arrival and transferred to your hotel. This evening, get to know your fellow travellers and Driver-Guide as you enjoy a Welcome Dinner at your hotel. Stay: Darwin, Mantra on the Esplanade. D Day 2. Darwin, Katherine. Depart Darwin for Litchfield National Park, renowned for its stunning tropical waterfalls and swimming holes. This stunning national park's sandstone plateau supports rich woodland flora communities, including the Darwin Wollybutt Eucalyptus miniata, as well as banksias, grevilleas, terminalias and a wide variety of other woodland species. This afternoon, board an unforgettable cruise through the spectacular Katherine Gorge. Discover the music, stories and ways of the local Jawoyn people as you learn about their spiritual culture. Afterwards, enjoy canapés and drinks at the beautiful Cicada Lodge, before indulging in a gourmet three-course meal. Stay: Katherine, Cicada Lodge. BLD Day 3. Katherine, Cape Crawford. Today, take in the outback scenery as you make your way to Cape Crawford, the gateway to the 'Lost City', where you will arrive at your outback hotel in time for dinner. Stay: Cape Crawford, Heartbreak Hotel (shared facilities). BLD Day 4. Cape Crawford, Tennant Creek. Enjoy a scenic flight over the unique rock formations of the 'Lost City'. A series of large sandstone outcrops, the 'Lost City' evokes the remains of an ancient civilisation. A spectacular sight, this landmark is located in a remote and hard to access area, and a breathtaking flight is the perfect opportunity to capture their stunning natural beauty. Later, visit Caranbirini Conservation Reserve, which plays an important role in preserving the local flora and fauna. This unique area also includes a sandstone escarpment and waterhole.
