Zeb told this story to his mum who wrote it down and his teacher sent it to us. Zeb also did the illustrations. Well done Zeb! The Yellow Fever By ZEB HUNT, 6, St Francis Catholic Primary School, Auckland Once upon a time, when the world had existed for millions of years, there came a very strange and scary problem called Yellow Fever... There was a certain kind of tree called a Looka tree which was very deadly. They dropped pretty yellow petals on the ground. If someone should happen to walk amongst the fallen petals, they could catch the Yellow Fever and turn into a zombie. Lots of people were turning into yellow zombies. They didn't know it was from the Looka trees. When the zombies died, they turned into a little seed, which would grow into another Looka tree. If a zombie should touch you, you would faint and get the Yellow Fever. One day a clever man made a discovery. He knew that the yellow Looka trees were responsible for the problem. The man made a potion from the petals of the Looka tree. He had to wear gloves and a special suit so the Looka tree fumes didn't get into his lungs. He knew if he took the mask off while he was making the potion, he'd get the Yellow Fever. He dipped all the Looka tree seeds into the potion and he covered the ground where the zombies were walking with the potion. All the zombies and seeds turned back into humans. The man became famous for his idea and the city was happy.
