George reveals Office life revealed According to a survey carried out by electronics giant Samsung, colleagues who shout down the phone, never offer to make tea or coffee, or who bring smelly food into the office for lunch are among the top bugbears of office employees. The survey asked 1,500 adults about daily office life, and revealed that the irritating habits of colleagues dominated the list of things that annoy workers, although problems with computers and other electronic equipment also ranked highly. The findings revealed that despite Rolling with the changes A study by Canon has revealed that 43 per cent of business leaders placed technological advancements at the top of the biggest changes a company would encounter in the next decade. The 'Change or Be Left Behind' report said this was more than double the next categories – general company change (19 per cent), people changes (18 per cent) and broader economic or legislative changes (18 per cent). Canon Business Imaging Director Craig Manson said technology was the biggest changing factor for organisations in the next 10 years, but there was no point implementing it for the sake of keeping up with competitors. "Organisations need to take the time to look at how their business is evolving and growing, working out how technology can align with the business, changing it for the better and making it more competitive," Manson said. In the survey, change was cited as 'important' by 86 per cent, while 73 per cent noted their business would be left behind if they failed to embrace new developments. But fewer than half the businesses, 39 per cent, said they took to change, while only 49 per cent were proactive on it. technological advances aiming to make our lives easier in the workplace, it turns out slow computer systems, printer jams and unnecessary emails were some of the other gripes that all made life a daily misery for workers. Those who took part in the survery said that they would like to see the development of an automatic paper-jam fixer, and self-filling toner cartridges. Presumably a good-quality coffee machine in every office would help too! 700 Building on strong foundations Here at St.George we're very proud of the work achieved by St.George Foundation, which helps disadvantaged children across the country. The Foundation supports programs run by smaller charities that aren't able to raise extensive funds, or who don't receive much financial support from the government. Over the last 20 years, it has donated in excess of $17.5 million to more than 700 such organisations. In recent months, the Foundation has had some great exposure, including a new TV commercial. No actors were used – instead, the ad starred youngsters from the Foundation's supported charities, with internationally acclaimed director Jason Wingrove behind the camera. In the spirit of goodwill, all the production companies who worked on the ad offered their services free of charge.
