:pacific pets Getting behind animal causes in the Pacific Animal Protection Society of Samoa The Animal Protection Society (APS), founded in 1994, is a non-profit, nongovernment organisation dedicated to improving the health and welfare of dogs and cats in Samoa. The APS runs a veterinary clinic for dogs and cats, which includes a 24/7 emergency service, within the Ministry of Agriculture compound in Avele, Apia, and they also offer home visits throughout Samoa on request. Services at the APS clinic are charged at a cost-recovery basis. Local and international sponsors support the wages of local staff and all other overhead costs. In addition to their at-cost clinic services, the APS conducts two free Community Outreach programs: a humane education program and a village de-sexing program. As they are offered free-of-charge, the APS is in constant need of funds to maintain these two valuable programs. www.apssamoa.org Animal Rights Hawaii Animal Rights Hawaii is composed of a dedicated group of community service volunteers that strives to eliminate animal suffering wherever it's found, especially in Hawaii. Animal rights Hawaii are opposed to the use of animals for food, clothing, experimentation and entertainment.
