WONDERS OF CHINA 16-DAY ITINERARY, CLASSIC TOUR Designed to showcase China's amazing sights while allowing a glimpse of the local life, this tour lets you experience the variety of wonders that China has to offer, from the history of the Great Wall and Terracotta Warriors to modern and cosmopolitan Shanghai. Take in the beauty of Guilin with a cruise on the Li River, the dramatic Three Gorges on the Yangtze River, and the adorable giant pandas in Chongqing. DAY 1: DEPART THE U.S. Depart on your overnight flight from the U.S. to China. DAY 2: ARRIVE BEIJING Upon arrival in Beijing, be met and transferred to your hotel. DAY 3: BEIJING Start your day with a stroll through Tiananmen Square, past Chairman Mao's Mausoleum, to the treasure-filled Forbidden City. Walk through the largest and best-preserved collection of ancient buildings in China, then take a rickshaw ride through the traditional hutong areas and visit the Temple of Heaven. Your evening meal includes the local delicacy, Peking duck. (B, L, D) DAY 4: BEIJING Climb the Great Wall to appreciate 2,000 years of historical significance while admiring panoramic views. The Great Wall is China's most iconic attraction, and stretches over 4,000 miles from the Shanhaiguan Pass on the east coast to the Gobi Desert in the west. Also tour the exquisite Summer Palace, considered a masterpiece of Chinese landscape garden design. This evening, attend a fascinating acrobatic show. (B, L, D) DAY 5: BEIJING TO XIAN Fly to Xian, the former ancient capital, and visit the Shaanxi Museum, home to thousands of priceless relics. This evening, savor a traditional Shui Jiao dumpling meal, followed by a performance of Tang Dynasty dancing. (B, L, D) DAY 6: XIAN Visit one of the most important archaeological discoveries of the 20 th century, the 2,000-year-old Terracotta Warriors. Walk along the ancient city wall and stroll through the lively Muslim Quarter to explore the Islamic food markets. (B, L, D) DAY 7: XIAN TO WUHAN – YANGTZE RIVER CRUISE EMBARKATION Fly to Wuhan and transfer to Yichang to board your Yangtze River Cruise vessel. Yangtze River Cruise itineraries, sightseeing, and excursions are subject to change due to water levels, river conditions, and cruise line.
