ONZM business in brief New Year Honours List The Order of New Zealand The Queen has been pleased on the occasion of the celebration of the New Year, to make the following appointment to The Order of New Zealand: DNZM To be Dames Companion Mrs Rosanne Philippa O'Loghlen Meo, OBE, of Auckland. For services to business. Dame Rosanne, who has been Chair of the Auckland Philharmonic Orchestra Board since 2004, is also Chair of the Briscoes Group, and a board member of Overland Footwear and AMP Services. Previous roles include Chair of Television New Zealand and board appointments/directorships with Forestry Corp, Mercury Energy, Sky TV, Baycorp Advantage and Ports of Auckland. In 1991 Dame Rosanne became the first female president of the Employers' Federation. Ms Suzanne Elizabeth Moncrieff, ONZM, of Upper Moutere. For services to the Arts. Dame Suzanne is the founder of the World of Wearable Art concept and the current artistic director. Suzie has received numerous awards for her achievements and contribution to the Arts and each year joins a panel of judges to choose the garments for the show. To be Officers of the said Order: Mrs Carol May Becker, of Ahaura. For services to Plunket. Carol has been the President of Plunket New Zealand for four years. She is acknowledged as the driving force in keeping Plunket relevant for today's modern-day mothers, providing the resources they need, and has been instrumental in the debate over the anti-smacking bill. At 77, Grace Dorset still works full time counselling victims and perpetrators of domestic violence through the Te Akatea Iwi Tauawhi Trust, for which she has been manager, director and programme designer for more than 20 years.
