48 Day 15. Washington DC. Today is yours to explore Washington DC at leisure. You might like to spend your time visiting the National Air and Space Museum, the National Museum of American History, or the National Museum of Natural History – all of which are fascinating attractions run by the Smithsonian Institution which is the world's largest museum and research complex. After your day at leisure, rejoin your fellow passengers and enjoy dinner together this evening. BD EXPERIENCE AMISH COUNTRY Day 16. Lancaster, Philadelphia. Today you will travel through the city of Baltimore in Maryland on the way into Pennsylvania Dutch Country in Lancaster County – also known as Amish Country. Here, join a local Amish guide and set off on a tour of the area. During the tour, you'll gain a fascinating insight into the unique lifestyle of the Amish people, and observe the marked contrast of their way of living compared to the pace of modern 21st-century life. Afterwards, continue on your journey and arrive in Philadelphia, one of the biggest cities in the United States and known as the birthplace of American democracy. On arrival, settle in to your hotel before enjoying a delicious dinner this evening. Stay: Philadelphia, Hyatt at the Bellevue (or similar). BD Day 17. Philadelphia, New York City. During a sightseeing tour of this historic city, you'll visit a broad selection of Philadelphia's major landmarks. Visit Independence National Historical Park – home to the iconic Liberty Bell as well as World Heritage-listed Independence Hall, where the Declaration of Independence and the United States Constitution were debated and adopted in the late 18th century. Then continue on to arguably the most famous city in the world – New York. On arrival here, head for Midtown Manhattan – the perfect base from which to immerse yourself in the colour and excitement of the city. After settling in to your hotel, enjoy dinner this evening. Three Night Stay: New York City, The Westin New York Grand Central. BD THE BIG APPLE Day 18. New York City. During a guided tour of Manhattan this morning, you'll visit the landmarks of New York so easily recognisable from numerous films, television shows and novels. Experience Fifth Avenue; vibrant Times Square; Broadway's glitzy Theatre District; and the Lincoln Center, home to The Metropolitan Opera, The New York City Ballet and The New York Philharmonic Orchestra. You'll also visit Greenwich Village, the former bohemian capital of the city; the artistic neighbourhood Soho; and the Financial District including Wall Street. In the afternoon, you will enjoy time at leisure to explore the sights of this iconic city however you choose. Perhaps discover some of the neighbourhoods that combine so many different cultures, giving New York City the unique flavour it is so famous for. B Day 19. New York City. This morning after breakfast, cruise to the iconic Statue of Liberty, which was a gift from the people of France to the United States, and represents Liberty, the Roman goddess. You will also explore Ellis Island, which was the gateway for millions of immigrants to the US as the nation's busiest immigration inspection station from 1892 to 1954. The afternoon is then yours to discover this iconic city at your leisure. Perhaps explore the expansive gardens of Central Park; go shopping at the city's famed department stores; or wander New York's varied neighbourhoods each home to their own international flavours, such as Chinatown and Little Italy. This evening, you'll be able to share tales of your day of discovery and say goodbye to new-found friends as you toast a truly memorable journey over a special Farewell Dinner. BD Day 20. Depart New York City. After breakfast at your hotel this morning, your holiday draws to a close as you are transferred to the airport for your onward flight.
