Recytech says one of the reasons businesses and consumers don't opt for safe disposal of e-waste products like mobile phones, laptops and computers, is they just don't know where or how to dispose of them correctly. With recent estimates showing there are around 7.8 million desktop computers in New Zealand, Recytech encourages Kiwi businesses to seek out information on e-waste disposal companies and their methods, and to make sure they are Basel Certified before the disposal process starts. The Hudson survey "paints a bleak picture for employers", saying, "Of every 10 employees: four are not good hires, eight aren't engaged in their work and six are actively seeking other employment." Source: NZ Herald HER MAGAZINE | December/January 2012 | 13 Wintec Honorary Award for Netball Legend A proud Waikato woman who has devoted her life to netball will have an honorary Masters of Science (Sport and Exercise Science) conferred upon her next year by Wintec. For more than 60 years, Monica Leggat has shown round-the-clock commitment to fulfilling many different roles for netball in New Zealand, including regional president, national president and team manager. In 1999 Leggat was awarded a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit (MNZM) for services to netball and the community, and in 2003 she received the Halberg Trust Service to Sport award.
