The Lake Tekapo Footbridge Society Fashion Show The popular Church of the Good Shepherd sits in a beautiful location beside Lake
Tekapo. It has one of the most photographed views in New Zealand. However, its popularity creates traffic and noise pollution which detracts from the sanctity and beauty of the site.
The Lake Tekapo Footbridge Society Incorporated has been formed with the aim to
secure funding of one million dollars to finance the construction of a footbridge over the Tekapo River outlet.
In its fundraising efforts an evening of high fashion and entertainment was held on
November 19 featuring the latest styles from Annah Stretton, Hat & Hair and Head Over Heels with Mika as MC.

Bread Ladies Growing up in Lake Tekapo always inspired creativity and
imagination, from giving the tussocks haircuts to building structures out of anything that we found.
I have always been a creative person but put it aside to pursue a
career as a pilot with Air Nelson. After losing my medical seven years ago I couldn't keep ignoring my creative side.
I started playing with salt dough when I was 18 and loved the
way it could be sculpted. When my flying came to a halt I started experimenting with the concept and have moved on through the years developing my recipe so it stands the test of time and conditions.
At the beginning of this year I set a goal to get stuck in and create.
Based in Pokeno, I contacted the local cafes and galleries to host my work.
After the Lake Tekapo fashion show featuring Annah Stretton I thought I could make some fantastic ladies dressed in Annah.S. With the go ahead from Annah and her team I chose their outfits from her website. They looked amazing and the piece was donated to the Tekapo Footbridge auction.
