THINGS YOU SHOULD NEVER DO
ON SOCIAL MEDIA
Eight percent of top senior female executives have sport
in their background. Most of these women continue to
be physically active; the correlation between sport and
business can be put down to a few things. Being involved
in sport helps women to develop their leadership skills
and to deal with failure. It also gives them the competitive
edge and teaches them about learning from losing.
Instead of feeling disheartened, athletes work harder and
try different things to get the results they want. These
attributes can easily be transferred to the business world.
Tips for brand behaviour and reputation management
1.Don't reply to everyone – If there is a problem,
selectively choose when and where to clarify it.
2.Don't respond to trolls – This will hype them up even
more. Most people that are critical are trolls and don't
need to be replied to.
3.Don't react right away – If you feel the need to
respond to a critic, calm down before you do so. If you
are angry and fuming when you reply you will just make
the situation worse.
4.Don't insult people - It's an important skill in life to
be able to process criticism without taking it personally.
It is unprofessional to respond to critical feedback with
personal attacks.
5.Learn when to walk away – Even when there is heated
debate about something you or your company did, it's
important to know when to walk away and when to say
something.
6.Don't lie – It will end up backfiring on you and ruining
your reputation.
