To Washington D.C. Day 6. Natchez. In the state of Mississippi on a bluff overlooking the river, Natchez was a wealthy and important city before the Civil War. On an Historic District Tour here today, you'll visit Longwood Mansion, an octagonal house that was never completed due to the war. You'll also see many of the city's restored homes and buildings, including fine examples of antebellum architecture. Afterwards, perhaps head to the JN Stone House for a classical music concert and wine reception. Or learn about the life and times of early cotton planters at Frogmore Plantation – a working cotton farm. BLD TENNESSEE U S A 1 Memphis ARKANSAS 3 New York City 7 Queen of the Mississippi Day 7. Vicksburg. As the site of a 47-day siege during the American Civil War, this morning's port of call – Vicksburg, Mississippi – is simply bursting with history. Here today, explore the Vicksburg National Military Park, which commemorates the famous campaign, siege and defence of Vicksburg in 1863. Take a narrated coach tour of the battlefields then drop in to the visitor centre. Later, return to your ship and set out towards the city of Memphis. BLD Day 8. Cruising the Mississippi River. Take advantage of a full day on the river today, passing the sights of Arkansas on your left and Mississippi on your right. You might like to take part in some of the many activities, lectures and presentations being run, or simply relax in one of your ship's comfortable public areas. BLD Day 9. Memphis. Disembark this morning in Memphis, Tennessee – the city that many consider to be the home of rock'n'roll. Here, take in the sights during a guided tour. Then, after lunch back on board, head to Graceland – the former home of Elvis Presley and today a National Historic Landmark. This evening, indulge in a Farewell Dinner. BLD THE MUSIC CITIES OF Tennessee Day 10. Disembark Mississippi River Cruise, Memphis. Disembark for the final time this morning and transfer to your charming hotel, where you may be fortunate enough to see the famous Peabody Duck March in the lobby. The entire day is then yours at leisure to further explore Memphis as you choose. Memphis, Franklin, Nashville. Travel via the uniquely Southern town of Franklin to the capital of Tennessee, Nashville. Take a backstage tour at The Grand Ole Opry House, a must-see for visitors to the city. Here an iconic stage concert and radio broadcast is held each week, showcasing the biggest stars of country music. On air since 1925, The Grand Ole Opry is among the longest-running radio broadcasts in history. After a backstage tour here, enjoy a city tour and discover the places that have earned Nashville its reputation as the heartland of country music. This morning's touring begins with a visit to The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, which preserves the history and traditions of country music. Afterwards, enjoy a backstage tour of the Ryman Auditorium – home to The Grand Ole Opry show from 1943 to 1974. 3 Washington D.C.
