On an Historic District Tour here, you'll visit Longwood Mansion, an octagonal house that was never completed due to the onset of the wat. You'll also see many of the city's restored homes and buildings, including fine examples of antebellum architecture. After returning to your ship for lunch, this afternoon, perhaps head to the JN Stone House for a classical music concert and wine reception. Today disembark at Oak Alley – an historic mansion and plantation in the community of Vacherie, Louisiana. Here, wander under a 240-metre-long canopy of towering oak trees that were planted in the early 18th century. Then enjoy a tour of the restored Greek-revival-style antebellum mansion and its impressive grounds, including several reconstructed slave quarters. Afterwards, continue cruising towards New Orleans.
