Traverse the wildflower-laden tundra landscapes of Alaska's wilderness Day 18. Skagway. Today you'll arrive in Skagway at the northernmost point of the Inside Passage. Once a gateway city for the Klondike gold rush, Skagway's frontier-style atmosphere remains evident today. Here, a variety of unique excursions are on offer (own expense). BLD Day 19. Glacier Bay. Wake up to the sight of World Heritage-listed Glacier Bay National Park, which boasts more actively calving tidewater glaciers than anywhere else in the world. As you cruise through the park and take in the rivers of ice and sky-scraping peaks, you'll benefit from the commentary of rangers who have come aboard to explain the wonders and point out some of the wildlife. BLD Day 20. College Fjord. Cruise through College Fjord today, with its five tidewater glaciers, five large valley glaciers and many smaller glaciers – most of which were named after Ivy League schools. BLD EXPLORE ALASKA BY LAND Day 21. Whittier, Anchorage, Kenai Peninsula. Today disembark in Whittier and travel via Anchorage to Cooper Landing. Known as 'the Gem of the Kenai Peninsula', Cooper Landing is located in Kenai Fjords National Park, nestled in the Kenai Mountains along the turquoise waters of the Kenai River. After settling in to your wilderness lodge, enjoy the afternoon at leisure before dinner. Two Night Stay: Cooper Landing, Kenai Princess Wilderness Lodge. BD 102 Day 22. Kenai, Freedom of Choice Sightseeing. After breakfast, select from our range of activities. You may like to learn about dog mushing from an expert and meet some sled dogs; explore Cooper Landing; or embark on a nature hike. Alternatively, enjoy a serene float trip on the peaceful waters of the Kenai River. After your activity, the rest of today is yours to enjoy at leisure. B Day 25. Denali, Freedom of Choice Sightseeing. Today, choose from a range of activities in Denali National Park. You may like to take part in a Natural History Tour, visit a husky homestead or perhaps take to the rapids of the Nenana River during an exhilarating half-day rafting adventure. Alternatively, watch for native wildlife as you travel deep into the park on a Tundra Wilderness Tour. B Day 23. Mt McKinley. This morning you'll pay a visit to the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge, which measures almost 1 million hectares. Here, join a local guide and learn about the significant conservation efforts that are made here to preserve Alaska's native flora and fauna. Afterwards, continue on to your wilderness lodge, which borders the south side of Denali National Park. After settling in, enjoy time at leisure before dinner this evening. Stay: Mt McKinley Princess Wilderness Lodge, with stunning views of Mt McKinley and Denali National Park. BD Day 26. Denali, Fairbanks. Depart Denali today and travel to Fairbanks, Alaska's second largest city. Here, take a sternwheeler cruise along the Chena and Tanana rivers. During the cruise, see a bush pilot demonstration and stop at the home of a dog-sledding champion to meet the dogs and learn about the sport. You'll also tour a replica Athabascan Indian village. Later, check in to your lodge and enjoy free time. Two Night Stay: Fairbanks, Fairbanks Princess Riverside Lodge. B Day 24. Princess Rail Service, Denali. Today ride in a Princess Rail Service dome car into Denali National Park, listening to insightful onboard commentary about the region and taking in the sweeping Alaskan tundras. Settle in to your lodge then learn about the first men to reach the summit of Mt McKinley during dinner and a show at the lodge's unique Music of Denali Musical Theatre. Two Night Stay: Denali Princess Wilderness Lodge, the perfect base from which to explore Denali National Park. BLD Day 27. Fairbanks. With time at leisure this morning, perhaps take to the skies to experience the Arctic Circle from the air (own expense). This afternoon, enjoy a close-up view of the TransAlaska Pipeline. Then travel the Tanana Valley Railroad to Gold Dredge 8, a National Historical Monument, where you will see first-hand how the dredge worked the gold fields back in the early 1900s. Later this evening enjoy a Farewell Dinner & Drinks. BD Day 28. Depart Fairbanks. After breakfast, transfer to the airport in Fairbanks for your onward flight. B
