Jazz!
The 16th Moruya Jazz Festival was a bumper program
of musical entertainment across the weekend of 19–21
October, 2012.
Rex has sponsored the event for several years, and
this time supplied four return air tickets as prizes. Rex
Ambassador Max Kingston represented the airline at the
event, making numerous speeches, presenting the prizes
and participating in the parade.
There was a great turnout, with crowd numbers up
on previous years. Jazz music fans were definitely not
disappointed, thanks to a jam-packed program that kept
everyone entertained. Festival-goers enjoyed the Belgian
Street Orchestra, the newly formatted Jazz Picnic and
the Gospel Singing Concert. All up, there were about 35
jazz combos and six major choirs, including the famous
Canberra Barbershop men's group.
The funds raised were donated to the Oncology Unit
of Moruya Hospital.
