Of our seven new ships, six are Viking Longships: Viking
Einar, Viking Sigrun, Viking Sigyn, Viking Tir, Viking
Ullur and Viking Vali. ese vessels have already begun
sailing some of our most popular European itineraries
on the Rhine, Main and Danube Rivers. Our seventh
new ship, Viking Helgrim, was specifically built to sail
the Douro River, meaning we now have four sister ships
sailing in Portugal.
e launch of these new ships has come at an exciting
time for us. Recently, we swept Cruise Critic's 2019
Cruisers' Choice Awards with 11 first place wins —
including in the new "Best for River Cruises" category.
And earlier this year, we released our new-look 2020
river cruise brochure, featuring itineraries that cover
central Europe, Asia, Egypt, France, Portugal, Russia
and Ukraine.
