Conquer Cystic Fibrosis through research
Life expectancy in Australia for
people with Cystic Fibrosis (CF) in
the 1960's was 5 years. It is now
35 years. Deaths in Australia of
younger people have, thankfully
declined dramatically since 1998.
The six years from 1998 to 2004
saw a fall of 70% in the number
of deaths of people with CF aged
under 20 years.
The greatest contributing factor
to this is undoubtedly research.
Research leads to improvements in
treatments,which in turn leads to
longer, healthier lives.
There is still no cure for
Cystic Fibrosis, but it is
something Conquer Cystic
Fibrosis Inc. intends to change.
