The engine room is fully insulated for crew comfort.
There is a large workbench to one side, with all the tools
for any onboard repair and maintenance readily available.
The large Kohler 28KVA 3 phase 28EFO2D Marine
genset sits in the corner.
She is equipped with a fuel efficient Scania DI12
59M engine, coupled to a 9:1 CPG-32 marine gearbox
driving a Hundested Propulsion System consisting of
a VP9.5 1800mm diameter variable pitch propeller,
designed to give significant fuel savings. This means at
any given rpm the propeller can be correctly pitched for
efficiency with maximum power being drawn from the
engine without overloading by changing pitch.
At lower than maximum speed, the engine's fuel
consumption can be reduced considerably by increasing
pitch and lowering rpm whilst maintaining the required
towing speed. There is no need for a reversing gearbox,
only reduction is required, no change of shaft rotation,
