Bungle Bungle Range, Cathedral Gorge, Piccaninny Creek, Beehive Domes, Sunset Drinks. Explore the majestic natural amphitheatre of Cathedral Gorge and take an easy-paced walk along the dry bed of Piccaninny Creek, winding among the high walls of the Bungle Bungle domes. Your well-informed guide will bring the natural history of the Bungle Bungle Range to life, and enlighten you about bushtucker and bush medicine. There is time for an optional helicopter flight over the domes (own expense). Later enjoy drinks as you watch the sun set over the domes, before returning to the lodge for a hearty dinner. Day 1. Kununurra. Arrive in Kununurra, the outback town that serves as the Kimberley's eastern gateway, and check in to your resort. Two Night Stay: Kununurra Country Club Resort, Kununurra. SIGHTSEEING HIGHLIGHTS Explore the township of Kununurra BLD Visit the immense Lake Argyle, Australia's largest man-made lake Join a wildlife cruise on the Ord River and bask in a beautiful outback sunset Explore the Bungle Bungle Range and weave among the iconic beehive domes Hike into the towering Echidna Chasm and marvel at its 200 metre high walls Walk along the ancient Piccaninny Creek bed into cavernous Cathedral Gorge See China Wall, an unusual quartz rock formation, at Halls Creek Take a cruise along Geikie Gorge and admire its striking bleached walls BLD D Day 2. Lake Argyle, Ord River Wildlife Cruise, Lake Kununurra. This morning you have some free time to further explore Kununurra. Then journey to see Lake Argyle, the largest man-made lake in Australia that doubles in size during flood times. After, join a guided cruise through this rugged billion year old landscape along the Ord River to Lake Kununurra. Admire the spectacular scenery, birdlife, and crocodiles, as the sun sets across this timeless land. Day 5. Halls Creek, Fitzroy Crossing. Visit Halls Creek, and see China Wall, a curious quartz ridge, before continuing to Fitzroy Crossing. Stay overnight and relax along this picturesque sweep of riverbank. Departing Kununurra, travel into World Heritage-listed Purnululu National Park, one of Australia's most fascinating landmarks and home of the famous Bungle Bungle Range. Travelling via Warmun (Turkey Creek), head east down the Spring Creek Track, which leads into the national park.
