Irkutsk. Arrive today in Irkutsk and perhaps take a guided tour and admire the city's distinctive wooden architecture. Alternatively, learn about Russian cuisine as you take part in a fun cooking class. Later, enjoy a private opera performance, reminiscent of those once enjoyed by aristocrats in the 19th century. BLD Day 8. Lake Baikal, Listvyanka. Today, absorb the grandeur of Lake Baikal, the world's deepest freshwater lake, as your train is pulled by an authentic Soviet steam locomotive. Delight in the romance of rail travel as you wind through tunnels and along cliff-side tracks overlooking the lake. Disembark and travel by boat to the village of Listvyanka, where you may wish to learn about the lake's flora and fauna at the Baikal Limnological Museum. Or, take a hillside hike for spectacular views. Re-board your train and, weather permitting, stop on the shores of Lake Baikal where you'll enjoy a BBQ of smoked Omul fish, a local delicacy. You may be brave and even choose to dive in for an invigorating swim. BLD Day 9. Ulan Ude. Today arrive in Ulan Ude and embark on an exploration of the Old Believers Village, where you'll learn about the culture and history of the local people. Later, enjoy a concert featuring local dancers and musicians, before re-boarding your train. BLD Day 10. Ulaanbaatar. Cross the border into Mongolia and visit its capital, Ulaanbaatar. You may like to spend the entire day at leisure exploring the city's wonders, where you'll see the monument to Genghis Khan. Alternatively, perhaps venture to the stunning grasslands of Gorkhi-Terelj National Park in the afternoon. BLD Day 11. On Board. Relax on board as your train travels through the beautiful landscape of Russia's remote far eastern provinces. You may wish to attend one of the interesting lectures or Russian language lessons. BLD Day 12. On Board. Sit back and relax while you follow the Shilka and Amur rivers, which are situated close to the Chinese border. BLD Day 13. On Board. Today is your last day on your private train. Pass Khabarovsk and cross the River Amur. Tonight, enjoy a final dinner onboard. BLD Day 14. Vladivostok, Disembark Golden Eagle. After travelling over 10,500 kilometres, you'll arrive in the port city of Vladivostok. Disembark and take a sightseeing tour before this evening's Farewell Dinner. Stay: Vladivostok, Hotel Hyundai.
