On arrival, be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel. The remainder of the day is at your leisure, before a Welcome Reception and dinner this evening. Stay: Moscow, The Ritz-Carlton. D Day 2. Moscow, Embark Golden Eagle. Today, embark on a city tour and see the Red Square. Here, you'll also see the brightly coloured domes of one of Russia's most recognised structures, St Basil's Cathedral. Or visit Tretyakov Gallery. Later, transfer to Kazansky Station and enjoy a Champagne Reception in the Imperial Room before boarding the Golden Eagle for your marvellous Trans-Siberian rail journey. 12 Night Stay: The Golden Eagle. BLD Day 3. Kazan. Arrive at your first stop, the picturesque and historic city of Kazan. Situated on the River Volga, this capital of Tatarstan is the birthplace of one of Russia's most famous opera singers, Feodor Chaliapin. Here, you will have the opportunity to see the city's rich tapestry of culture on a guided tour. Explore a selection of the city's major sights, including the World Heritage-listed Kremlin Fortress, the oldest surviving Tatar fortress YOUR INCLUDED SIGNATURE EXPERIENCES In Irkutsk, enjoy a private opera recital reminiscent of those once enjoyed by aristocrats in the 19th century Absorb the grandeur of Lake Baikal as your train is pulled by an authentic Soviet steam locomotive Stop on the shores of Lake Baikal where you'll enjoy a BBQ of smoked Omul fish, a local delicacy in Russia. You'll go behind the walls of this ancient citadel to explore the beautiful mosque and the onion-domed cathedral. Re-board your train for dinner this evening. BLD Day 4. Yekaterinburg. Disembark and perhaps take a city tour, then visit the Church Upon the Blood, the site where Tsar Nicholas II, the last Emperor of Russia, was executed with his family in 1918. Alternatively, explore the Museum of Military History, home of the downed American U-2 spy plane, and look at the Cold War through Soviet eyes. BLD Day 5. Novosibirsk. Disembark for a tour of Lenin Square, which houses the incredible Novosibirsk Opera and Ballet Theatre. An architectural marvel that's one of the largest opera houses in the world, it houses two permanent ballet and opera companies. In front of the opera house is a statue of the famous Russian leader, Vladimir Lenin, which provides the perfect photographic opportunity. BLD Day 6. On Board. Unwind in your elegant surrounds on board your private train. Perhaps learn a few words of Russian or sit back and relax.
