74 | GRAND EXPEDITIONS Day 22. Sognefjord, Naeroyfjord, Flåm. Spend today cruising the majestic fjords of Norway, sailing through Sognefjord, the country's largest fjord and the third longest in the world. Continue on to World Heritage- listed Naeroyfjord, lined by rugged mountain peaks, tumbling waterfalls and emerald valleys, stunning views abound. Tonight enjoy a relaxed evening in Flåm. BLD Day 23. Flåm, Undredal. Embark on one of Europe's most scenic and steepest rail journeys along the Flåm Railway as you rise to 850 metres above sea level. After lunch, traverse the remote countryside on the way to Undredal. BLD Day 24. Bygstad. Absorb the stunning scenery in and around Bygstad then continue to the open-air Sunnfjord Museum, home to antiquarian buildings set in an authentic cultural landscape that displays a variety of building techniques and traditions from the 16th through to the 19th century. After stopping to explore, a particularly picturesque drive takes you to the stunning region of Norway known as 'waterfall country'. BLD Day 25. Olden, Nordfjord. Arrive at the village of Olden and pass beautiful lakes on the way to the spectacular Briksdal Glacier. Walk to the viewing point, where you will take in the awe-inspiring spectacle. Later sail into Nordfjord, which cuts its way inland to the mighty icefields of the Jostedal Glacier. BLD Day 26. Trondheim. In Trondheim visit the world's oldest open-air museum, the Norwegian Folk Museum. Learn about local life from the 16th century. BLD Day 27. Bronnoysund, Torghatten. Cruise past Vikingen and see the Arctic Circle monument. Sail through Bronnoysund and admire breathtaking Mount Torghatten, one of the most famous landmarks on the Norwegian coast. At this magnificent site, you will have a choice of guided walks, including one walk that takes you to view the legendary 'hole' in the mountain. Afterwards, return to your ship for dinner. BLD Day 28. Trollfjord, Lofoten Islands. Enjoy a full day to explore the Lofoten Islands. This morning stop at Reine, located at the outermost of the Lofoten Islands then Enjoy a spectacular sunset in Helsinki the Telemark Canal. Carved into the rock over a century ago, the canal connects the coast of Telemark with the Norwegian interior through a series of locks and canals. BLD Day 19. Pulpit Rock, Lysefjord, Stavanger. Today choose between taking a hike to the stunning lookout at Pulpit Rock, or stay aboard for a scenic cruise through Lysefjord, followed by a walk through the streets of Stavanger. BLD Day 20. Rosendal, Hardangerfjord. Dock in the town of Rosendal, located on Hardangerfjord and travel to the small village of Sunndal. From here, walk to the picturesque and serenely captivating Bondhus Lake, surrounded by a stunning backdrop of fjords and mountains. BLD Day 21. Bergen. Embark on a guided sightseeing tour of the Bergen old quarter, with its quaint wooden houses and cobbled streets. Visit the home of Norway's most famous composer, Edvard Grieg. Enjoy a private recital of some of Grieg's most well-known classical masterpieces. BLD
