47 Day 12. Serengeti National Park, Ngorongoro Crater Drive to Olduvai Gorge to explore one of the world's most important archaeological sites. You'll then descend into World Heritage-listed Ngorongoro Crater for a spectacular tour and a picnic lunch. Stay: Ngorongoro Farmhouse. BLD Day 13. Ngorongoro Crater, Mto wa Mbu, Lake Manyara, Arusha Head to Mto wa Mbu, a tiny village set at the base of the Great Rift Valley Escarpment. Visit a school and see what daily life is like for the students. You'll end the tour at a local restaurant where you can try a range of East African dishes. Later, enjoy an afternoon game drive at Lake Manyara, keeping an eye out for the area's famous tree- climbing lions. Afterwards, travel back to Arusha where you will stay for the evening. Stay: Arusha, Mount Meru Game Lodge. BLD Day 14. Arusha, Kilimanjaro, Depart Nairobi From Kilimanjaro Airport, fly to Nairobi where your tour ends. Masai Mara A free morning gives you the chance to experience the Masai Mara from the skies on a magical hot-air balloon ride (see page 51 for further details). Afterwards, head back to the lodge for a delicious breakfast and a chance to recall all you've just witnessed. Later, you'll head out on another game drive. The Masai Mara delivers those quintessential safari scenes of endless grassy plains, peppered with acacia trees and powerful predators who stalk unsuspecting prey. Masai Mara Experience the beauty of an African sunrise during an early breakfast ahead of today's game drives. Tonight, delight in an unforgettable bush dinner under the African night sky. BLD Day 9. Masai Mara, Nairobi, Arusha (Tanzania) Enjoy your final morning in the Masai Mara, then transfer to the airstrip and board your scheduled flight to Nairobi. Be met by a bus on arrival at Nairobi and then transfer to Arusha in Tanzania, with a packed picnic lunch to enjoy along the way. You'll arrive later at The Arusha Hotel, an elegant boutique property situated on five acres of beautiful manicured gardens in the shadow of Mount Meru. Unwind and enjoy a free evening in and around your hotel. Stay: Arusha, The Arusha Hotel. BL Day 10. Arusha, Serengeti National Park Transfer to Arusha Airport for your flight into Serengeti National Park. You'll be met on the ground by your driver guide for a game drive into the golden plains of the national park. Best known as a host to the epic Great Migration, the Serengeti is also famous for its predators, such as lions, cheetahs, leopards and hyenas, who spend their days perusing impalas, zebras, buffalo, gazelle and more. Arrive later at the Kati Kati Tented Camp in the central Serengeti. Relax by the campfire before dinner, then retire to your tented room with an ensuite. Serengeti National Park Get acquainted with the landscapes and wildlife of the Serengeti on a full-day game drive with your expert driver/tracker.
