46 Day 1. Arrive Nairobi (Kenya) Welcome to Kenya. On arrival, you'll be met and transferred to your hotel. Tonight, relax and enjoy dinner (own expense) at one of the two restaurants at your hotel. Stay: Nairobi, Eka Hotel. Day 2. Nairobi, Amboseli National Park Head for Amboseli National Park, arriving at Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge in time for lunch. Located against the magnificent backdrop of Mt Kilimanjaro and in the heart of this world-famous national park, the lodge offers you the perfect base from which to embark on your Kenyan safari. After lunch, you will enjoy an afternoon game drive to look for the Big Five as well as hippos and a variety of water fowl which can be found near the park's wetlands. It is a truly incredible spectacle to see these animals free-ranging across the plains or wallowing in the swamps, all with Mt Kilimanjaro looming majestically in the background. Sundowner drinks at Observation Hill rounds out a perfect first game drive in Amboseli National Park. You'll then return to the lodge to relax and enjoy an expertly prepared dinner. Two Nights: Amboseli National Park, Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge. BLD Day 3. Amboseli National Park Wake early then enjoy some tea and a snack in preparation for another exciting day of game viewing. As always, your expert game driver/tracker will be on hand to ensure you get the best possible opportunities to see the animals of Kenya. Travelling in such small groups today, you're guaranteed a front-row seat to this fabulous wildlife show. The afternoon takes you to a Maasai village where you'll wander about the homes they have built with their own hands and delight in their colourful jewellery. BLD Day 4. Amboseli National Park, Nairobi, Lake Naivasha It's onto the next adventure as you take a short flight to Nairobi before travelling to Lake Naivasha Sopa Lodge. During free time this afternoon, you may like to explore Crescent Island (see page 51 for further details). Two Nights: Lake Naivasha Sopa Lodge. BLD Day 5. Lake Naivasha, Lake Nakuru National Park A full-day game drive at Lake Nakuru National Park offers yet another window into life in Africa's animal kingdom. Look for awe- inspiring white rhinos around the soda-encrusted lake and keep your eyes locked on the grassy plains in search of zebras, buffalo and graceful Rothschild's giraffes. If you're lucky, you may even spot a leopard. Make a stop for lunch at Sarova Lion Hill Lodge, where you will dine al fresco in the Flamingo Restaurant and enjoy views out to Lake Nakuru. BLD Day 6. Lake Naivasha, Masai Mara Relish today's drive across the Great Rift Valley to the endless plains of the Masai Mara, famous for its leopards, lions and cheetahs. At certain times of the year, you may be lucky enough to see herds of wildebeest, gazelle, and zebra travelling to and from the Serengeti in search of food during the Great Migration, and the predators who follow them. After lunch, head out on an exhilarating game drive. Three Nights: Masai Mara, Mara Leisure Camp.
