Day 6. Mitchell Falls, Helicopter Flight. Discover Mitchell Falls' beautiful cascading waters and Indigenous art. When available, local Indigenous guides will join you. Begin with a guided hike to Little Mertens Falls and view rarely seen rock art. Continue on to Big Mertens Falls and then see the fantastic Mitchell Falls at their best on an included helicopter flight. Should you prefer, perhaps hike back with your guide. Longer helicopter flights are also available at an additional expense. BLD Day 7. Mitchell Plateau, Gibb River Road, Home Valley Station. Rejoin the Gibb River Road and ford the mighty Durack River before arriving at Home Valley Station. Discover the spellbinding scenery that captivated audiences in Baz Luhrmann's movie Australia, including the strikingly beautiful backdrop of the Cockburn Range. Experience a real outback adventure, as you stay on this immense working cattle station, which is 100 per cent Indigenous-owned and close to the Pentecost River. Stay: Home Valley Station. BLD Day 8. Home Valley Station, El Questro Wilderness Park, Emma Gorge. Learn about the Indigenous training program and the history of the Kimberley's cattle stations on a tour of Home Valley Station. Here, discover the amazing scenery surrounding the property and enjoy privileged access to areas within the station that are inaccessible to self-drive tourists. Later, cross the Pentecost River into El Questro Wilderness Park, covering a staggering one million acres. Soak in Zebedee Springs and visit the station township. Tonight, indulge in a delicious dinner under the stars with your fellow travellers. Stay: El Questro, Emma Gorge Resort. BLD Day 9. El Questro, Wyndham, Parry's Lagoon. Hike to the picturesque Emma Gorge and take a dip in its large cool waterhole set at the base of a towering 65-metre cliff, graced by a droplet waterfall. Head to Wyndham and view the spectacular vistas of Cambridge Gulf. Enjoy lunch before visiting picturesque Parry's Lagoon, a bird watcher's paradise. Two Night Stay: Kununurra Country Club Resort. BLD Day 10. Ord River Cruise, Lake Kununurra. Travel to the majestic Lake Argyle, the largest man-made lake in the Southern Hemisphere. Join a spectacular wildlife cruise on the mighty Ord River. From modern shaded vessels, discover a fascinating ecological system that has developed from the damming of the Ord River at two locations to create an area rich in wildlife, flora and undeniable beauty. Enjoy sunset while cruising on tranquil Lake Kununurra. B Day 11. Purnululu National Park, Echidna Chasm. Depart Kununurra to explore the rich wilderness region that was awarded World Heritage status in 2003. Hike to Echidna Chasm, a spectacular natural cleft in the rock. Narrow in width with walls reaching 100 metres, Echidna Chasm is a must-see in the Kimberley. BLD Day 12. Piccaninny Creek, Cathedral Gorge. Explore the magic of Purnululu for yourself, and discover the depth of the Bungle Bungle Range. Walk along Piccaninny Creek, a winding gorge within the high walls of the Bungle Bungle domes. Enter the natural amphitheatre of Cathedral Gorge, a spacious cavern where the acoustics are astounding. Marvel at the majestic beehive domes as your guide brings the natural history of the range to life. You may like to experience an optional helicopter flight over the domes (own expense). As the sun begins to set, enjoy drinks overlooking the striking colours of the Bungle Bungle Range. BLD Day 13. Halls Creek, Fitzroy Crossing. Head to Halls Creek and admire the unusual China Wall, a natural quartz formation which runs six kilometres along the landscape.
