18 Day 1. Arrive Yangon, Embark Ship. Upon arrival in Yangon, you'll be met at the airport and transferred to the Irrawaddy River where you'll board the RV Princess Panhwar, your beautiful home for the next 14 nights. Settle in and enjoy lunch on board. Like a Local – marvel at Shwedagon Pagoda, a 99 metre- high gilded pagoda and stupa that dominates the city skyline from atop Singuttara Hill. Tonight, enjoy a Welcome Dinner on board. Stay (14 Nights): RV Princess Panhwar. LD Day 2. Maubin. Awake today to the glorious scenery along the Irrawaddy River as you cruise upstream. Arrive after lunch in Maubin, home to a number of universities as well as a range of Buddhist pagodas. During a walking tour, learn about Ba Maw, a prominent Burmese political leader, and visit the local market. BLD Day 3. Danuphyu, Hinthata. Continue along the Irrawaddy Delta and stop to explore Danuphyu, where the revered General Maha Bandula led a famous Burmese defensive against British troops during the First Anglo- Burmese War. Disembark to visit the Monastery of Maha Bandula and a home cheroot-making workshop. Later, cruise to Hinthata. BLD Day 4. Myanaung. Cruise to the sleepy township of Myanaung today where you'll enjoy a guided walking tour after breakfast. Stroll past a range of well- preserved colonial houses and a Roman Catholic church, before taking in the spectacle of the bustling colourful local market. BLD Day 5. Pyay (Prome), Sri Ksetra. Today take in views of the Akauk Mountains and their cliff carvings as you cruise towards Pyay, where you'll disembark for a tour. Established by the British Irrawaddy Flotilla Company, the town originally served as a cargo transit point between Upper and Lower Myanmar. See a selection of gilded pagodas, including the Shwesandaw Pagoda, then travel to the ancient ruins at the old Pyu kingdom capital, Sri Ksetra. BLD Day 6. Thayetmyo. Cruise to Thayetmyo, a town that once sat on the British colonial border between Upper Myanmar and Lower Myanmar. Here, take in the colonial houses and visit Myanmar's oldest golf course, established in 1887. This afternoon, perhaps take part in a cooking demonstration conducted on board by your chef. BLD Day 7. Minhla, Magwe. Stop in Minhla, the site of a significant battle during the Third Anglo-Burmese War. Take a boat to visit Minhla fort, which was built to keep the British forces out of Myanmar. Later, cruise to Magwe to visit its market and Myathalon Pagoda. BLD Day 8. Salay. Cruise to Salay, a religious centre. Visit Yoke Sone Kyaung, the region's oldest wooden monastery. Then continue to Shinbin Maha Laba Man Paya, home to Myanmar's largest lacquer Buddha image from the 13th century. BLD Day 9. Tantkyi Hill, Bagan. Climb Tantkyi Hill to visit Tant Kyi Taung Pagoda.
