26 Day 16. Port Chalmers, Dunedin. Perhaps disembark today in Port Chalmers at the southern end of New Zealand's South Island, for a scenic coach transfer to the city of Dunedin. Known as the 'Edinburgh of the South', the symbolic architecture of this former gold-mining town is still proudly on display. Explore the town centre and see many fine examples of its Victorian and Edwardian heritage including the famous, historic railway station, the town hall, the municipal chambers and St Paul's Cathedral. Optional excursions today include a visit to the historic Larnach Castle or a tour of the beautiful and wildlife abundant Otago Peninsula. BLD Day 17. Milford Sound, Scenic Cruising, Fiordland National Park. Like a Local – today our ship enters the glacial-fed waters of the spectacular Milford Sound – this marks the cruise highlight for many. All hands will be on deck as the ms Noordam cruises through the pristine natural wonderland of Fiordlands National Park. Have your cameras at the ready as you glide past towering mountains including the famous Mitre Peak, and see waterfalls plunging from the sheer fiord walls. Also look out for bottlenose and dusky dolphins and watch out on the shores for wildlife including Fiordland crested penguins and fur seals. BLD Day 18. At Sea. Say goodbye to the Land of the Long White Cloud today as the ms Noordam leaves New Zealand's shores and heads west across the Tasman Sea. In between delicous meals, you may decide to relax in your cabin, by the Lido Pool, or in one of the many lounge or bar areas. The more energetic might spend some time in the fitness centre or take part in one of the many onboard activities that are available. BLD Day 19. At Sea. Another day at sea to spend relaxing and enjoying the facilities of the ms Noordam. Perhaps attend a cooking class or demonstration at the Culinary Arts Centre or visit the ship's art gallery which contains some interesting and orginal artworks. Burnie/Hobart This morning your ship has crossed the Tasman Sea and depending on your particular cruise, has either arrived in the Port of Burnie in North Western Tasmania, or the state's capital Hobart, on the Derwent River #. If in Hobart, you may wish to visit the renowned Museum of Old and New Art, explore the charming city centre, or perhaps take a tour down to Port Arthur to learn more about Tasmania's convict past. BLD Day 21. Melbourne. The ms Noordam has crossed Bass Strait overnight and will be docked at Station Pier in Melbourne. Perhaps venture into the city and discover its unique cafe and arts culture. You could take in the views of the city from the Eureka Skydeck or visit the famous Queen Victoria Market. Other options include a visit to the Dandenong Ranges or take a ride on the Puffing Billy steam train. BLD Day 22. At Sea. The ms Noordam has left Port Phillip Bay and will make its way east then north along the New South Wales coast. Perhaps spend some time before the holiday's end relaxing in the ship's luxurious spa. BLD Day 23. Eden. The ship will make its last port of call, before arriving in Sydney, in the southern New South Wales fishing town of Eden ˆ . Perhaps visit the Killer Whale Museum or learn more about the town's seafaring past including its whaling industry and its many shipwrecks. BLD Day 24. Arrive Sydney.
