32 Day 1. Arrive Launceston, Freedom of Choice. Arrive in Launceston and transfer to your hotel. Then explore the city on a tour, before enjoying your selected sightseeing activity. Tonight, enjoy a Welcome Dinner & Drink with a menu exclusively chosen for APT guests. You'll also learn some cooking tips from the Hotel Grand Chancellor's chef. Stay: Launceston, Hotel Grand Chancellor. FD Day 2. Bridestowe Lavender Estate, East Coast Natureworld, Freycinet National Park. Visit Bridestowe Lavender Estate and sample the unique lavender- infused fare. Then follow the Tasman Highway and enter the temperate rainforests of the Weldborough Pass. Continuing south through the town of St Helens to Bicheno, visit East Coast Natureworld. See APT's very own Tasmanian devil and meet an array of other native animals. Afterwards, journey to Freycinet National Park and walk along Cape Tourville, admiring the pristine nature and dramatic coastline. Arrive at Freycinet Lodge where tonight, you will indulge in an exclusive Gourmet BBQ overlooking Coles Bay (weather permitting). APT HIGHLIGHT! Stay: Freycinet National Park, Freycinet Lodge. B, FD SCENIC FLIGHT OVER FREYCINET Perhaps take a scenic flight over Freycinet National Park. See page 33 for details. Day 3. Freycinet National Park, Richmond, Tasman National Park, Port Arthur. This morning after breakfast, you have some time at leisure to explore picturesque Freycinet National Park. If you're feeling energetic, perhaps take a walk to Wineglass Bay lookout to take in the views of pure white beaches and the surrounding bushland. Later, travel to the heritage town of Richmond and admire its historic convict-built bridge. Then enter Tasman National Park. Here, you'll see how nature and time have combined to create spectacular rock formations such as the Tessellated Pavement, Devils Kitchen and Tasman Arch. Continue along a scenic stretch of road to one of Australia's most evocative historic sites, the convict settlement of Port Arthur. This evening, stay in the shadows of the former penal colony. Stay: Port Arthur Motor Inn, overlooking the historic site. BD Day 4. Port Arthur Historic Site, Depart Hobart. Step back in time as you explore the Port Arthur Historic Site today. There is no better place to imagine how convict life would have been as you tour the ruins, explore the chilling prison and cruise across Mason Cove around the Isle of the Dead. Afterwards, travel to Hobart, the Tasmanian capital, where your tour concludes with a transfer to the airport.
