You'll then visit the 1,000-year-old Hradcany Castle courtyard and St Vitus Cathedral, which dominates the pretty city skyline. Believed to date back to the 9th century, the castle complex – with its fascinating network of palaces and churches – is considered to be the largest in the world. You'll then wander to Charles Bridge and cross this Czech landmark, which straddles the beautiful Vltava River. Finally, you'll arrive in Prague's Old Market Square and stop for some time to browse through the distinctly European wares on sale in wooden stalls. This evening, gather with fellow passengers for a Welcome Dinner. Day 3. Prague. With today at leisure either further explore the sights of Prague, or join an optional tour to the medieval city of Kutná Hora (see page 49). Located close to Prague, this World Heritage-listed city was once the silver mining capital of Bohemia. Today, it offers a glimpse of bygone days, with its ancient ramparts and historic church spires. Kutná Hora is also home to one of the country's most visited attractions, the Sedlec Ossuary (Bone Church). The church's interior is artistically decorated with the bones of human skeletons. B – www.travelmarvel.com.au – Day 4. Prague, Dresden, Berlin. Today, travel across the border to Germany and then on to Dresden. As you visit some of Dresden's most distinguished landmarks, you'll appreciate how this city has been restored to its former splendour, since its extensive demolition during World War II bombings. Visit the Castle of the Electors of Saxony, including the Saxon Wall and the Semper Opera House. Then, continue by coach to Germany's intriguing capital city, Berlin. Stay (2 Nights): Berlin, Crowne Plaza. Day 5. Berlin. BD Once a city literally cleaved in two, modern-day Berlin now embodies a fascinating blend of old and new. Start your day with a trip to the visitor platform of the prominent Fernsehturm Berlin – the city's television tower and Germany's tallest structure. From here, enjoy panoramic views of Berlin's urban landscape, as the TV tower is located at Alexanderplatz, pinpointing the very heart of the city. Then, continue to view some of Berlin's historic landmarks including the Reichstag building and the city's signature Brandenburg Gate, a symbol of peace and more recently of a reunified Berlin. Afterwards, continue to the Berlin State Opera House, before seeing a section of the ruined Berlin Wall. Day 6. Berlin, Warsaw. Farewell Berlin as you travel by train across Northern Germany into Poland, where later, you'll arrive in the country's charming capital of Warsaw. On arrival, check into your hotel before dinner at a local restaurant. Stay (2 Nights): Warsaw, Mercure Warszawa Grand. BD B BD
