PROGRAM ADJUSTMENTS AND CHANGES Although Cuba Travel Services (CTS) works diligently to operate the program as listed in the promotional material, due to the nature of the activities which often involve interactions with individuals, circumstances beyond CTS's control may require a deviation from the itinerary. CTS reserves the right to modify any program and if a traveler cancels due to these changes, all cancellation terms and conditions apply. CTS may substitute hotels at any time if they deem the change is in the best interest of the travelers or is due to circumstances beyond CTS's control. Certain visits, including but not limited to visits to museums or certain projects, may be disrupted due to local religious or state holidays, as well as other unforeseen activities. OFAC LICENSING REQUIREMENTS The traveler understands that travel transactions related to Cuba must be directly incident to one of the self -authorizing general license purposeful travel categories or travel authorized under the auspice of a specific license granted on a case-by-case basis. Under current U.S. travel restrictions with respect to Cuba, travel-related transactions are prohibited except for certain categories & that purchasing and participating in this program, the traveler self-certifies that they qualify to travel under the Cuba Travel Services general license for People to People travel (515.565(b) ). At time of booking, the traveler will receive all necessary forms to be filled out in accordance with the regulations. As a licensed authorized traveler, it is important that you keep a copy of your travel documents in your records for 5 years in case you should need to provide proof of your licensed travel. SIGHTSEEING TOURS & ITINERARIES Sightseeing tours and entrance fees to places visited are included, as indicated. Tours are under the direction of licensed local guides as indicated. During holidays, some sites such as museums may be closed or unavailable for visits. We reserve the right to vary the sequence of sightseeing and/or to re-route or substitute the sightseeing. In either case, the itinerary content will be maintained. Optional excursions are offered in most cities. Your tour director and/or local representative will advise you of the optional excursions available to you, all of which must be purchased locally. There are no refunds for any unused portion of the excursions. You are responsible for getting to the pick-up location for any optional excursion, unless it is noted that hotel pick-up is included. U.S. law requires that you follow the full-time schedule of your escorted tour itinerary. Deviation from your itinerary is not permitted. There will be little free time on most days of this tour, in order to fully experience the destination through its people. You may have some down time in the evenings when dinner is not included. Please note that it may be necessary to substitute specific itinerary inclusions, visits, meetings with individuals and organizations, etc. with alternatives of equal relevance and interest. HANDICAPPED SERVICES AND FACILITIES Should you desire any special service or equipment to assist with a disability, please let us know in advance so we can advise the air carrier and resort (services available vary by carrier and resort). Although we will do our best to assist you, Apple Vacations does not guarantee the availability of wheelchairs at any airport. Standards in Cuba are not consistent with the standards required by the Americans With Disabilities Act, and are not within the control of Apple Vacations. Please consider your physical condition before traveling to Cuba. Wheelchair accessible hotel rooms and transportation are not available on the itineraries offered, and many of the streets and sidewalks are rugged and not paved. TRAVELERS WITH CERTAIN DISABILITIES Any travelers with disabilities or special needs must report their medical condition to Apple Vacations at time of booking. Apple Vacations will make every effort in order to ensure the participation of the traveler, but please note that none of its employees or suppliers can assist passengers while on tour. Full-time participation on the tour itineraries is required by law, and may prove to be too challenging for travelers with certain disabilities. All travelers that need special assistance are required to travel with a qualified companion who can accommodate their special needs. Traveler represents that neither he nor she nor anyone travelling with him or her has any physical or other condition or disability that could create a hazard to himself or herself or other members of the tour. The tour provider reserves the right to decline to accept anyone on a trip, and to remove from the trip, at his or her sole expense, anyone whose condition is such that he or she could create a hazard to himself or others, or otherwise impact the enjoyment of other guests on the trip. CREDIT CARDS AND TRAVELERS CHECKS U.S. financial institutions and Cuban vendors are NOT set up to process credit card, debit card and ATM transactions in Cuba. Travel with a sufficient amount of cash (prices are similar to those in the U.S.) to make purchases or pay for services. U.S. currency is NOT accepted in Cuba. We strongly suggest that you exchange U.S. dollars upon arrival, though you may want to keep some U.S. singles for tipping. Traveler's Checks may also be difficult to cash while in Cuba and are not recommended. VALUABLES AND PERSONAL ITEMS VALUABLES AND OTHER PERSONAL ITEMS ARE YOUR RESPONSIBILITY. Most hotels offer safety deposit box facilities. We strongly recommend that you deposit cash, passports, jewelry and other valuables for security. Do not pack cash, medication, jewelry, cameras, film, important documents or fragile items in your checked luggage. DRESS CODE Casual, lightweight clothing and dressing in layers is recommended. Long pants and long sleeves are suggested for sun and mosquito protection. Wear comfortable, sturdy, already broken-in walking shoes. Although comfortable, casual dress is the standard by day, for some dinners you may want to dress up a bit more (ex. khakis for men, sundresses for women). INSURANCE Cuban Medical Insurance will be provided with the purchase of your charter ticket and automatically included for anyone arriving to Cuba. AV-OK TOTAL VACATION SECURITY PLAN For additional protection, we recommend that you purchase our optional AV-OK Total Vacation Security Plan. This plan protects your travel investment against cancellation penalties. For complete details, refer to the AV-OK Plan Description on the following page or at applevacations. com/avok. AV-OK plan payments are non-refundable and non- transferable. CUSTOMS Per U.S. regulations, you are allowed to bring back $400 worth of goods for personal use, of which $100 of that can be brought back in tobacco and alcohol products. Informational materials, such as books, art (including handicrafts, ceramics, and sculptures), music and videos, are not included in this amount and do not count toward the $400 limit. You may be asked to show U.S. Customs officials your receipts or a copy of the authorization letter you are traveling on (located in your travel documentation). In addition, you are restricted from bringing certain types of goods (e.g. fresh fruits, vegetables) back to the U.S. Ask your travel agent for the latest details and save receipts for purchases made while in Cuba. CATALOG/WEBSITE ACCURACY We check and re-check prices and facts about the vacations we offer to ensure accuracy at the time of printing. Sometimes, however, you may find that prices have been changed or features we describe may become unavailable. Whenever possible, we will inform you or your travel agent about such changes. However, all prices and descriptions herein, as well as in Apple Vacations print advertisements and our website, are subject to change without notice. CUSTOMER COMMENTS Should you have a complaint while in Cuba, promptly notify your Cuba Travel Services Tour Director who will make every effort to help you. If the matter cannot be settled on the spot, you must write to the Apple Vacations Customer Care Department within 28 days of the completion of your vacation at customercare@applevacations.com. The few complaints we receive are normally resolved by amicable settlement. However, please understand that we cannot consider post-vacation submissions if you did not provide a reasonable opportunity to be assisted during your trip. We reserve the right to give any compensation in the form of vacation certificates, cash or credit card credit. Cuba Travel Services operates all Cuba Tour Planner programs.
