Arrive Leith. Arrive at the airport in Edinburgh and be transferred to Leith, where you will board your small ship. This evening, get to know your Expedition Team and fellow travellers at a Welcome Dinner. 14 Night Stay: aboard the MS Hebridean Sky. D Day 2. Invergordon, Freedom of Choice. Arrive in the Scottish Highlands town of Invergordon. Experience fairytale architecture and exquisite gardens with a visit to Dunrobin Castle. Alternatively, enjoy a visit to Loch Ness and Urquhart Castle. BLD Day 3. Orkney Islands, Kirkwall, Freedom of Choice. From Kirkwall, follow the coast of Scapa Flow to the smaller South Isles. Perhaps head off on a drive over the first of the Churchill Barriers and visit the hand-painted Italian Chapel built by Italian prisoners of war, before visiting Highland Park for a whiskey tasting. Back in Kirkwall, tour St Magnus Cathedral and Orkney Museum. Alternatively, see the standing stones of Stenness, the Ring of Brodgar and Skara Brae. BLD Day 4. Lerwick, Shetland Islands, Freedom of Choice. Reaching the main port of the Shetland Islands, Lerwick, perhaps visit Jarlshof, where archaeological ruins date from the Stone Age to the 17th century. Alternatively, explore Viking heritage towns on a guided walking tour. BLD Day 5. Fair Isle. After breakfast, commence your exploration of Fair Isle. The tiny population of approximately sixty islanders always extend you a warm welcome. Enjoy a walk across the island, perhaps searching out the puffin slopes at the wonderful Bird Observatory, or continue to the community hall for a cup of tea. BLD Day 6. Stornaway, Shiant Isles, Dunvegan, Isle of Skye. Spend the morning in the town of Stornaway, before boarding a Zodiac for a cruise around the Shiant Isles, a group of islands located just off the shores of the Isle of Lewis. Keep an eye out for seals and white-tailed eagles. Arrive in Dunvegan on the Isle of Skye this evening, where you will enjoy special local entertainment. BLD Day 7. Dunvegan, Armadale. This morning, explore Dunvegan Castle, the mighty Hebridean stronghold of the Clan MacLeod, and wander the picturesque gardens. Later, arrive at Armadale and spend time on the Isle of Skye in the Inner Hebrides archipelago.
