61 NORTHERN EUROPE Day 16. Bergen. Spend the day in the lovely World Heritage- listed city of Bergen, home to one of the world's oldest symphony orchestras. Embark on a guided sightseeing tour of the old quarter, with its quaint wooden houses and charming cobbled streets. You will also visit the home of Norway's most famous composer, Edvard Grieg. Following the tour, enjoy a private recital of some of Edvard Grieg's most well- known masterpieces. BLD Day 17. Rosendal, Hardangerfjord. Dock in the small town of Rosendal, set on the shore of Hardangerfjorden. From here, drive alongside the fjord towards Maurangerfjord, taking in an idyllic and peaceful part of Norway. See farms dotted along the fjord, where the fertile land offers a great harvest and feed for their animals. In the distance, keep an eye out for Bondhusbrea (the arm of Folgefonna Glacier). Continue on to the small village of Sunndal and set out on an invigorating walk to the picturesque and serenely captivating Bondhus Lake, surrounded by a stunning backdrop of fjords and mountains. Take some time to capture the picture-perfect vistas reminiscent of a fairytale storybook. Afterwards, return to your ship in time for a delicious dinner. BLD Day 18. Lerwick, Shetland Islands, Freedom of Choice. Reaching the main port of the Shetland Islands, Lerwick, perhaps visit Jarlshof, where archaeological ruins date from the Stone Age to the 17th century. Alternatively, explore Viking heritage towns on a guided walking tour. BLD Day 19. Orkney Islands, Kirkwall, Freedom of Choice. From Kirkwall, follow the coast of Scapa Flow to the smaller South Isles. Perhaps head off on a drive over the first of the Churchill Barriers and visit the hand-painted Italian Chapel built by Italian prisoners of war, before visiting Highland Park for a whiskey tasting. Back in Kirkwall, tour St Magnus Cathedral and Orkney Museum. Alternatively, see the standing stones of Stenness, the Ring of Brodgar and Skara Brae. Afterwards, return to your ship, where you will say good-bye to newfound friends at a Farewell Dinner later in the evening. BLD Day 20. Leith, Disembark Ship, Edinburgh. Your Scandinavian and Majestic Norwegian Fjords adventure draws to a conclusion today. Bid farewell to your wonderful crew as you disembark your small ship in Leith. You will then be transferred to Edinburgh airport for your onward flight.
